Pasadena Solar
Pasadena residents get their electricity from the City of Pasadena’s own Department of Water and Power and have the Pasadena Solar Initiative to help support solar throughout the city. The program is part of the City of Pasadena’s Green City Action Plan and the State’s Million Solar Roofs Initiative and represents a commitment by Pasadena Water & Power to help residents install a total of 14,000 kilowatts of solar power by 2017!
What does that program mean for Pasadena solar?…rebates that pay for almost half the price of a solar installation for your home (based on average retail prices in the area). Pasadena solar rebates pay $3,500 per kW in a lump sum as soon as your installation is completed; that’s about 60% higher than the $2,200 per kW rebates available to neighboring Southern California Edison customers!
Anyone living in Pasadena knows that the area receives tremendous sun exposure which makes it a great environment to go solar. Thanks to the rich incentives available, Pasadena residents can reduce their electricity costs with solar and feel good about the positive impact on air quality (wouldn’t it be nice to be able to see Mt. Baldy all year round?).
