About Renewzle
A Solar Web Tool Connecting Homeowners and Installers
We are a team of experienced Internet and solar industry professionals who are committed to helping you make sustainable lifestyle choices. Our mission is to make it easy for you to evaluate options for solar power, to give you a personalized projection of your cost and carbon savings and to connect you with the best installer for your situation.
Almost every day, we hear new facts, figures and product announcements related to energy choices, but we all need information that is specific to our own situation to make decisions. That is why we created Renewzle.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions. Please email us at: information “at” renewzle “dot” com
The Team
David Anderson, Founder
Renewzle is the result of market needs identified through David's honors thesis on state energy policy drivers at the University of California, San Diego, as well as his experience at an energy policy nonprofit in Washington. David is also the founder of the first environmental blog network, reaching over 1 million people each month. When not in the Renewzle office, David is usually picking the brain of an environmental thought leader or social entrepreneur over fair trade coffee--that, or playing competitive ultimate frisbee.
Leah Edwards, Business & Organizational Development
A native of the Bay Area, Leah loves both the natural beauty of our surroundings and our entrepreneurial culture. In the past twenty years, Leah has helped launch scores of products, nonprofit programs and businesses, including having been on the founding team of Post Communications, which was sold to Netcentives. In addition to earning a BS from the Haas School of Business and an MBA from Stanford, Leah has Certificate of Public Management and has worked on social causes with both businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Bradford Smith, Product Development & Operations
The former founder and CEO of a solar installation company, Brad brings a wealth of experience to Renewzle. An entrepreneur through-and-through, Brad also founded a lead-generation and strategic marketing practice that served Fortune 100 companies. Originally from the midwest, Brad earned a BS in Psychology from Michigan State University before moving to California and earning an MA in Organization Behavior, Claremont Graduate School.
Rachel Mackenzie, Product & Consumer Marketing
Rachel came to Renewzle from Adteractive where she worked as a Natural Search Product Manager and Search Engine Marketing Analyst. She moved to the Bay Area from suburban Chicago to attend Stanford University, where she graduated with an MA in Psychology and a BS with honors in Symbolic Systems. She now lives a car-less life in San Francisco and is thrilled to be working to help people lead more eco-friendly lives.
J.D. Hollis, Lead Architect
Before becoming a freelance information architect, J.D. worked as an analyst in Accenture's Finance & Performance Management practice designing business processes and assembling (expensive) PowerPoint decks. Nomadic since graduating from Georgia Tech with a BS with honors in Management and a Certificate in Finance, J.D. continues to circulate between various locations on the North American and Asian continents. J.D. has been programming since the tender age of six in a diverse range of languages and environments. In his free time, J.D. practices zazen, cooks gluten-free for his wife, roasts (and drinks) Fair Trade coffee and meditates on urban informatics, architecture and generative art.
